Synthesis and Optimization of Quantum Logic
Within this project, a new synthesis flow for quantum logic should be developed. We are cooperating thereby with the University of Victoria (Canada).

Quantum circuits represent a promising alternative to conventional circuit technologies. Certain problems (e.g. factorization or database search) can be solved significantly faster using a quantum circuit. However, the design of this kind of circuits is significantly different. Within the project, a new synthesis flow for quantum logic should be developed that automatically realizes circuits descriptions for this emerging technology. Depending on the addressed technology, different cost metrics should thereby be considered.
