Elliptic curves for cryptography
We discuss the problem of efficiently constructing elliptic curves of the kind that arise in cryptographic protocols based on the discrete logarithm problem.
It turns out that, when suitable applied, techniques stemming form the theory of complex multiplication can be used in this context.
Time permitting, we will also discuss extensions of the method to curves of genus 2.
