Three of Bremen University's Collaborative Research Centers have been given a four-year extension of their fundings from the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft).

As one of them, the collaborative research center "Reasoning - Action - Interaction" will now be able to continue the work: They try to understand how human and robots acquire and process information on their spatial surroundings.

Since 2004 the "plan m" mentoring program has been placed at the University of Bremen.

With Prof. Kerstin Schill as a very successful mentor, the European Union cited the this personnel training program

as an exemplary model for other European institutions.

Since January there were several TV comments about our new project with "VirtuSphere".

At July 21nd, our staff member Carsten Fisher was honored with the Werner von Siemens Excellence Award. Read the press release of the University of Bremen here (German).

Für seine herausragende und im Studiengang Informatik erstellte Diplomarbeit „Gewinnung eines Nutzerprofils basierend auf der Evaluation unsicherer multisensorischer Daten" wurde Carsten Fischer mit dem Werner von Siemens Excellence Award ausgezeichnet. Er entwickelte ein technisches System, dass die Betreuung von Patienten und Patientinnen mit Harninkontinenz erleichtern kann. Das System einer „intelligenten Windel“ besteht aus einer multisensorischen Hardwareplattform und einer Regelungskomponente, die auf einer Fuzzy-Logik basiert. Die erfassten Daten werden an einen PC weitergegeben, der rechtzeitig anzeigt, wann ein Toilettengang erforderlich ist.
