|4.42 Elementary Method "Trend Analysis" (TRDA)|
The "Trend Analysis" (TRDA) illustrates the different estimation of planned values and the changed ratio of planned to actual values at various report dates.
Means of Representation
In a time trend analysis the expected project completion deadline and also the deadlines of important milestones are re-estimated at various times of the project planning. In case this results in a modification of the previous estimation, the corresponding causes must be described in form of a commentary.
In an effort trend analysis the planned and actual effort are compared in a graph. The ratio of planned to actual values is documented at consecutive report dates which can be used to gain information about the trend in the ratio of planned to actual values during the course of a project as well as about the compliance with the plan.
|4.1||PM8 - Project Control||
In activity PM 8, method TRDA is applied for a control of planned and actual efforts and deadlines.
The result is entered into the report documents, therefore it is not possible to refer to a coverage of the product. Activity PM8 is covered by the additional application of methods BAR - Bar Plan and EVT - Earned Value Method which make it possible to get information about the planned/actual state under various aspects.
Based on the current comparison of planned and actual values,TRDA generates trend information about the expected future project situation with regard to the compliance with the planned efforts and deadlines.
