| IWSC'2010 - Dates & Call for Papers | 17. November 2009 |
The 4th International Workshop on Software Clones (IWSC'2010), themed "Exploring and Restructuring Systems through Clones", will be held on May 8th, 2010, co-located with the 32nd International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE'2010), Cape Town, South Africa. The goals of the workshop are to bring together researchers and practitioners from around the world to evaluate the current state of research and applications, discuss common problems, discover new opportunities for collaboration, exchange ideas, and envision new areas of research and applications. Along with James R. Cordy, Katsuro Inoue und Stanislaw Jarzabek, Rainer Koschke from our group is organizing the event.

| Diploma thesis awarded again | 01. Oktober 2009 |
Nils Göde's diploma thesis "Incremental Clone Detection" has been awarded again. At the annual conference of the german computer science society 'Gesellschaft für Informatik' it has been honoured with the software engineering award of the Ernst Denert Trust. Among all sumbissions nationwide the thesis has been choosen as the best contribution regarding methods, tools and principles of software development. Previously the thesis has been awarded with the sponsorship award of the Contact Software GmbH and the best paper award of the European Conference on Software Maintenance and
Reengineering (CSMR 2009). |
| Best Paper Award @ CSMR 2009 | 26. März 2009 |
The paper Incremental Clone Detection from Nils Göde and Rainer Koschke from our group has been chosen as the best contribution to 13th European Conference on Software Maintenance and Reengineering (CSMR) and was awarded with the Best Paper Award.
The paper describes the first incremental approach to find source code clones in subsequent versions of a program. |
| First conferment of a doctoral degree | 02. Februar 2009 |
Jochen Quante is the first member of the still young Software Enginnering Group to gain his doctorate degree. This is also the first thesis where the leader of our group, Prof. Dr. Rainer Koschke, acted as supervisor. On friday the board of examiners rated the thesis with the grade summa cum laude.
We congratulate our former collegaue and wish him well for his future. |
| Student of Software Engineering Group is awarded Contact price | 02. Februar 2009 |
Nils Göde has been awarded with the annual Contact price for his diploma thesis Incremental Clone Detection. The award honours the best diploma theses at the universities of Bremen and Oldenburg and is founded by the Contact Software GmbH.
Since october 2008 Nils Göde is a member of our Group. The results of his work will also be presented at the 13th European Conference on Software
Maintenance and Reengineering (CSMR), that will take place in Kaiseslautern, Germany in March 2009. |
