    2 Brief Characteristics

    In this service unit all tool requirements will be combined that have to be met for an effective analysis of the SDE data, in particular with regard to the passive query and analysis of SDE data. In this connection, the analysis may be realized within the scope of the generation of a document ("Report") or in order to meet tool services that are not necessarily made available directly to the user.

    All requirements marked with (R) can only be applied for relational databases.

    3 Requirements

    3.1 Requirements for Interfaces

    SOM02.I.2 Interface to SSEC03 - Access Control All access trials to objects that are subject to the object management are first subjected to the access control.

    SOM02.F.1 Analysis operators (R) To analyze and query SDE data, selection, projection and join are available as operators.
    SOM02.F.2 Interaction It is possible to interactively realize queries.
    SOM02.F.3 Selection criteria for all analysis operators (R)
    SOM02.F.3.1 Comparison It is possible to select objects by using the operators "equal", "not equal", "less than" or "greater than", based on the corresponding attributes.
    SOM02.F.3.2 Calculation It is possible to formulate the selection criteria for numerical attributes by utilizing operators for the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
    SOM02.F.3.3 Constants For the selection it is possible to compare attributes not only with each other but with constants of the corresponding domain.
    SOM02.F.3.4 Boolean operators It is possible to formulate the selection by means of the Boolean operators "and", "or" and "not" and by bracketing.
    SOM02.F.3.5 Key It is possible to formulate the selection criteria with key attributes.
    SOM02.F.4 Nesting (R) It is possible to nest selection, join and projection.
    SOM02.F.5 Concatenation (R) It is possible to use the results of selection, join or projection as a basis for further queries.
    SOM02.F.6 Structured objects Structured objects are handled as a unit in all queries.
    SOM02.F.7 Schema It is possible to realize all queries for schema information (meta-objects) in the same way as for objects (instances).
    SOM02.F.8 Performance data It is possible to query performance data (statistical information, throughput, etc.).
    SOM02.F.9 Reports
    SOM02.F.9.1 List It is possible to prepare the query results in the form of a list.
    SOM02.F.9.2 Group control change It is possible to define a group control change within a report and to link to the group control change special actions (at least summation page break and counter advance).
    SOM02.F.9.3 Report text It is possible to complete reports with describing text (e. g. title, column headers, etc.).
    SOM02.F.9.4 Printing It is possible to immediately print reports or to store the report as a file ready for printing.
    SOM02.F.10 Procedures
    SOM02.F.10.1 Sequence It is possible to combine a sequence of analysis operations in a procedure.
    SOM02.F.10.2 Parameters It is possible to define parameters for the procedures.
    SOM02.F.10.3 Calls It is possible to formulate queries with procedure calls.
    SOM02.F.10.4 Nesting For procedures it is possible to call other procedures.
    SOM02.F.10.5 Procedural language It is possible to analyze and query data structures and data of the SDE that are administered by SOM01 by means of a procedural language.
    SOM02.F.11 Cursor
    SOM02.F.11.1 Generation It is possible to open and to close the cursor.
    SOM02.F.11.2 Modification It is possible to read and to modify the elements of a cursor.
    SOM02.F.11.3 Active cursors For several cursors it is possible to be open at the same time.
    SOM02.F.12 Views It is possible to limit every query to views.
