I've visited
Gymnasium am Leibnizplatz
secondary school in Bremen
between 1976 and 1985. Then I studied Computer Science at
Universität Bremen,
Germany,
from Oktober 1986 till September 1991. In my
master's thesis,
I've described the graphical representation tool GIOTTO for
tree-like data structures. I've been a research assistant at the
Computer Science Department of Bremen University between October 1991 and November 1997.
At this time, I've spent most of my time developing the interactive graph
visualization system
daVinci
together with
Mattias Werner.
In my PhD thesis,
I've presented a method for incremental and stable graph layout which is
implemented in the daVinci system (version V2.1 and higher).
I've left University of Bremen in November 1997. My current employer is
STN Atlas Elektonik, Simulation Division.
I've participated in the following research projects:
- daVinci:
interactive graph visualization system, 91-97
- KORSO: BMFT Project Correct Software, 91-94
- FORAUS:
An SGML-editor (student project), 92-94
