Short Biography:

In January 1993 I finished my studies at Universität Hamburg with the diploma degree in Informatics (minor: Psychology). From August 1993 until April 1997 I was a research assistant in the applied Informatics group at Universität Bielefeld. There I worked in subprojekt A1 (hybrid knowledge representation) of collaborative research center 360 (situated artificial communicators). My Ph.D thesis ("Visuelle Objekterkennung als kognitive Simulation" visual object recognition as cognitve simulation) was finished in June 1997. From May 1997 until March 2001 I was a research associate in the knowlege representation group at Universität Hamburg. Since April 2001 I am an assistant professor at the Mathematics and Informatics department at Universität Bremen. I am principal investigator at three subprojects of collaborative research center SFB/TR 8 "Spatial Cognition".
