Photos of China

The photos shown here were taken during a three-week journey through China in March and April, 2007.

Our trip was self-organized, with the exception of a tour in the Guangxi Autonomous Region with a personal guide and driver and a three-day cruise on the Yangtze with Victoria Cruises.

Our itinerary started with a few days in Hong Kong; there we took the China Ferry from Kowloon to Shenzhen airport in mainland China. From Shenzhen we flew to Guilin and then traveled by boat on the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo, where we were picked up by our guide and driver for a tour a couple of days later. On the three-day tour we visited Sanjiang, Chengyang, the Longji rice terraces, and several minority villages. Next we flew from Guilin to Chongqing to embark the Victoria Cruises "Queen" for a two-night cruise on the Yangtze including several excursions and a tour of the Three Gorges Dam. Finally, we took one last flight from Yichang to Shanghai, our final destination.
