
IFIP Working Group (WG) 9.8 on
Women and Information Technology

The main activity of SIG 9.1.1 has been the organising of International Working Conferences. They are designed to include researchers and practitioners and to stimulate multi-disciplinary approaches. So far there have been seven conferences which took place in different countries: in Italy (1984), Ireland (1986), Netherlands (1988), Finland (1991), United Kingdom (1994), Germany (1997) and in Canada (2000). The 7th International IFIP Conference on Women, Work and Computerization "Charting a Course to the Future" (WWC 2000) took place in Vancouver (Canada) on June 8-11th, 2000.
